Case Study – Carterton Community Centre

The Carterton Community Centre is a local meeting place for the residents of the Shilton Park development in Carterton.

To coincide with its completion in 2008 an initial website was commissioned as a central focus for the centre online.

Built with no end user access meant anytime the site needed updating it required the original web developer to complete the update.

Two years on and the Centre is now flourishing with daily activities and a real buzz of excitement.

With the website out of step with the centre, prompted its management team to look for a new solution.

By visually updating the feel and redeveloping the site as a CMS, has meant real freedom for the centre in terms of where they can take the website online.

Built in to the supplied solution is the ability to add open source pugins and with its integrated blog means the centre now has new and exciting ways to promote the activities online.

Choosing Websites by Mark for the development has also bought other advantages including rapid indexing on Google as well as other vital business related tools.

As with any project keeping to the budget is important and with the website we were able not only to keep the site in budget but also hit all the required deadlines.

Gill, Manager at the centre had this to say about the new site ‘As I’m sure you know by now the website was received well by everyone. I love it as you know – so much more interesting, modern & hopefully will become a hub where everyone will go to for the latest info on what’s on etc!’

How it started In 1998, the year Google was founded no-one could have predicted the growth of the internet and the importance of companies like Google to all our lives. Within a short period of time Google had indexed vast quantities of information and companies began to see the value of being included in the Google search results. With so many websites listed, it became vital if you wanted to have visitors, you had to be listed on Google front page. From this moment the term SEO or…
